Nassau, The Bahamas - September 24, 2008 - The Wyndham Nassau Resort & Crystal Palace Casino has appointed 28-year hotel industry veteran Doug McLain to the position of director of sales for the resort located in Nassau, The Bahamas. Based out of Plantation, Fla., McLain will work to maximize the Wyndham Nassau Resort's revenue, as well as manage the sales team.
McLain joins the Wyndham Nassau Resort from Core Hospitality, LLC, where he was the corporate director of sales and marketing responsible for leading and restructuring the sales, catering and revenue management departments for the Renaissance Boca Raton and Marriott Fort Lauderdale North hotels. Prior to that, he held various positions at Wyndham International, including regional director of business development for more then 20 hotels and resorts in Florida and the Caribbean; director of sales and marketing for the Wyndham Bonaventure Resort & Spa; director of group sales at the Wyndham Palace Resort and Spa; national sales representative for the Midwest region, Wyndham El Conquistador Resort & Country Club & Las Casitas Village; and director of sales and marketing at the Wyndham El San Juan Hotel and Casino.
McLain also served in various sales positions at Interstate Hotels, Pittsburgh, Penn.; Sheraton Biscayne Bay, Miami, Fla.; Carnival Hotels and Casinos, Coconut Grove, Fla.; Crowne Plaza Miami, Fla.; Marriott at Sawgrass Resort, Ponte Vedra, Fla.; and the Hyatt Regency, Greenville, SC.
McLain began his career in the hotel industry as a houseman and front desk supervisor at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Toms River, NJ, and underwent corporate management training at the Grand Hyatt New York in New York City. McLain earned his bachelor of science degree in business administration, hotel, restaurant and tourism management at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, NJ.
The Wyndham Nassau Resort's 559 guestrooms are each equipped with new flat-screen televisions and in-room refrigerators.
