Nassau, The Bahamas - November 19, 2008 - The Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort, located in Nassau, The Bahamas, has appointed 24-year hotel industry veteran Todd Hunter to the position of director of group sales. Based in Miramar, Fla., Hunter is responsible for increasing group sales for the Southeast and Canadian markets.
Hunter brings over eight years of Caribbean group sales experience to his new position at the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort. He previously served as director of sales and marketing at The Ritz-Carlton in St. Thomas, where he was responsible for public relations, meetings and events, and attaining the leisure, group and catering goals for the resort. Prior to that, Hunter held various management positions at the Westin Resort in St. John over a nine-year period, including director of sales, director of group sales, senior sales manager and catering sales manager.
Hunter also spent 10 years working for Marriott Hotels and Resorts, where he worked in various capacities at different Marriott hotels. He began his hotel industry career as an intern at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kansas City, Mo. Hunter graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Hotel & Restaurant Administration.
