Show Will Feature Popular 1960s Artists - The Duprees, The Crystals, and Jay Siegel and the Tokens
Plantation, Fla. - October 29, 2007 - Cable Beach Resorts & Crystal Palace Casino, the premier entertainment destination resort of Nassau, The Bahamas, presents "Memories of Gold," featuring three Vocal Hall Of Fame acts, The Duprees, The Crystals, and Jay Siegel and the Tokens, performing live at the resort's Rainforest Theatre on Saturday, December 22nd and Sunday, December 23rd, at 9:00 p.m.
Famous for their love songs, the Duprees became an instant national hit in the 1960s with the ballad, You Belong to Me. Nine other Billboard Hot 100 songs followed, including My Own True Love and Why Don't You Believe Me. The Crystals, a dynamic girl group from the 1960s, had six songs in the Billboard Top 20 with hits such as Da Doo Ron Ron (When He Walked Me Home), He's A Rebel and Then He Kissed Me. Jay Siegel and the Tokens are best known for their smash hit, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, which debuted in 1961 and reemerged on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1994, after the song was featured in the Disney motion picture, The Lion King. Other chart toppers include Tonight I Fell in Love and Portrait of My Love. All acts will feature original group members in concert.
